We went for a door-to-door survey to identify the special kids who are left in the house without attending school in the nearby villages. We identified potential students and tried to convince their parents to bring their kids to the school. We counseled them that their kids day today chorus will definitely improve if they come to the special school. Though they agreed this in principle the school strength didn't improve. Later only we came to know the parents were daily wage earners and if they bring their kids to the school their livelihood will get affected.

Our school is located in Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar District, Tamilnadu State that is a semi-urban area. But most of students coming from rural areas. In the rural areas the parents are mostly uneducated, daily wage earners and depend upon agricultural based works. The parent’s thought was that ‘a special child can’t live independently or earn a reasonable income by themselves and can’t contribute anything to the family/society’. So spending towards the special education may not yield any results was the major mind set of the parents of the special children.

Moreover the rural areas have very limited transport facility in which transporting a special kid is not easy for their parents. Actually the transport system doesn’t suit to travel the special kids to the school.

We want to provide special education to more needy kids who are residing nearby and rural areas. If our organisation extends it FREE Education, transport & medicine more students will get benefited but the existing funds was not sufficient to do it.

The proposed project will give special education, Vocational Training, Sports activity, Yoga and health care benefits to more students. The above have helped us to reach more parents and let them convinced to send their kids to our school.
