Project Description | Jeevika project targets the following aspects of the government’s treatment program:
• Awareness in the community - downloading government app (Aarogya Sathi), educating the patients, caretakers (brand ambassadors) who in turn propagate the signs & symptoms in the community, demystifying stigma and encourage early screening/ testing.
• Nutrition Support – (Nachni, jowari, bajri flour, moringa powder, sattu powder, garden cress seeds (halim), nachni ladu, peanut Chikki, til Chikki)
• Sanitation Support - the kit includes face mask, sanitary napkin for female patients / soap for male patients, sanitizer.
• Compassionate nutritional Counselling |

Impact | The primary impact of the program is to enable maximum successful treatment completions which in turn will contribute in the overall impact to reduce the mortality numbers.
Measured using the following indicators:
• Improvement in adherence to treatment – monitored by tracking of patients attendance for his treatment appointments
• Improvement in healthy behavior's – proper use of sanitary materials provided during the course of treatment
• Improvement in health – data from regular check-ins (weight) with the patients to gauge improvement in health due to the nutritional supplement and diet plan given to the patients by the counselor
• Overall positive approach towards the treatment – Data gathered from counselling sessions and the above indicators combined shows the attitude change in patients towards the program and their recovery.
• Patients who have finished treatment are also followed up by the counselor & offered timely diet related advice to maintain healthy lifestyle.
• Maintaining the patient record while the counselor is with the patients / caretakers has helped understand the different behavioral/eating habits etc. |
