Support for One-Meal-A-Day Program in outreach areas of North Mumbai
“Food should be a love offering.”- Swami Satchidananda
Consumption of healthy, nutritious meals is extremely vital to physical and cognitive development in children. Homeless children lack access to proper meals, making them victims of malnutrition, and susceptible to deadly diseases. This places them at a competitive disadvantage, and in the long run, hampers their growth in society. The ‘One Meal A Day Program’ by The Vatsalya Foundation aims at curbing food insecurity amongst homeless children and ensuring their good health through healthy nourishment. Through this initiative, a daily one-time healthy nutritious meal cooked under hygienic conditions shall be provided to the 200 homeless children in North Mumbai outreach areas.
Why support the program:
• To provide nutritious, healthy, and wholesome food for the homeless children who otherwise find it difficult to arrange daily food for themselves.
• To help increase the immunity of the children and improve their health conditions.
• To help minimize instances of child hunger in urban footprint.
We at The Vatsalya Foundation appeal to your generosity on our path to create a difference by fulfilling the daily food requirement of 200 homeless children. The total estimated annual fund requirement for this project is Rs. 5,00,000 (Rupees Five Lakhs only).
