Her new position reflects the success of her career as one of the development sector's most respected CEOs. Her experience of the development sector and understanding of the organisation she has led will be tremendous assets to the Board. During her career with United Way Mumbai, Jayanti Shukla has been instrumental in helping the organisation initiate, grow and transform its programmes and flagship projects to ensure social impact in communities. Under her leadership, United Way Mumbai grew from a small team of 15 to a vibrant team of 60 development sector specialists, each with their areas of expertise. She has ensured that United Way Mumbai established itself as an organisation with a deep understanding of the development sector. As United Way Mumbai's CEO, Jayanti has formed lasting relationships with our most important stakeholders, including corporate partners, NGO partners from the sector, and government and civic agencies.
While Jayanti steps down from her day-to-day management as the CEO of United Way Mumbai and moves on to her new position as an advisor to the board, she will be handing over charge of the organisation to George J Aikara, former COO at United Way Mumbai, who will now take on the role of CEO from the 1st of April 2021.
George Aikara has contributed extensively in building United Way Mumbai’s capacities and work as the COO for the past 10 years. George is also a United Way Worldwide global fellow.
Also, as per the rotational policy for United Way Mumbai's Board of Trustees, the position of Chairman held by Mr. Homi Khusrokhan (Sr. Advisor, Private Equity, Tata Capital Ltd.) has been handed over to Mr. Rohit Adya (Founder & CMD of Datamodo Pvt.
