National Safe Motherhood Day

National Safe Motherhood Day is commemorated each year in order to promote proper healthcare practices among women, especially those who are pregnant or lactating. To mark the occasion this year, United Way Mumbai organised Godh Bharai activities at various Anganwadi Centres in Raigad. Godh Bharai is a celebration of motherhood and the ceremony stands for providing blessings in abundance to expecting mothers. At the event, the soon-to-be mothers were sensitised about the importance of breastfeeding and prenatal and postnatal care, to ensure that both mother and child enjoy good health.
