About Us

Nirmaan Organization is a registered NGO started by students of BITS Pilani in 2005 and works in the areas of Education, Livelihoods and Social Leadership. In the last 14 years, we have touched the lives of 9.5+ lakh beneficiaries with 180+ full time employees and 750+ strong volunteering network impacting Children, Women, Youth and Farmers from diverse social backgrounds across 8 States of India while partnering with 35+ Corporate, Philanthropic and Govt. partners. Under Social Leadership, among other activities, Nirmaan also has 4 student chapters - BITS Pilani, BITS Goa, BITS Hyderabad and BKBIET Pilani; who work for community development in the vicinity of their campus focusing on education, livelihoods, health and other such initiatives.

Raising Funds for

Livelihood Advancement Program for Women from Underprivileged Communities in Telangana and Goa

We had initiated this program in 2010 with an aim to provide relevant skills and build confidence of women from economically underprivileged families, thereby leading to their economic and social empowerment. For the holistic advancement of women, we developed an integrated approach for support through ‘TRAIN – TRANSFORM – TRIUMPH’ model: - Train: Train them in various market-oriented vocational skills (certified) - Transform: Conduct various Life Skills workshops to create awareness about available financial and social support provisions – contributing to their empowerment - Triumph: Handholding them in generating livelihoods from the skills learnt through support in job placement or business setup. Over the years, we realized that many women were interested in starting on their own but needed an initial push, like an incubation cell. Hence, we also started ‘Threads of Hope’ - a platform for the women to design, create and market their products to a wider audience. The funds raised through this campaign, will support the activities of Nirmaan and 2 of our student chapters - BITS Goa and BITS Hyderabad.
