Dear Friends,
1 in every 3 women in the world experiences physical / sexual violence in her life
27 percent of Indian women have experienced physical violence since age 15. That’s nearly 10 crore Indian women!
3 percent of ever-pregnant Indian women have experienced physical violence during their pregnancy.
'Sexual and Gender-based Violence’ (SGBV) is a fundamental human rights violation and a serious public health concern that affects women, men and young people in all their diversity. Eliminating gender-based violence is a priority, given that this is one of the most pervasive human rights violations in the world today.
This year, FPA India intends to support adolescent girls and young women to 'Break the Silence Around Gender-Based Violence'. In partnership with supporters, FPA India will do the following:
• Sensitise communities to prevent gender based violence
• Identify and help those in need to access care and support
• Empower young women with life skills training to say ‘no’ to violence
What support are we looking at?
A donation of INR 1830/- towards our cause will enable one woman to access information and skills to reduce her vulnerability to gender based violence and access counselling, basic care and support when in need, to protect her health, rights and dignity.
The more you donate, the more girls and women will you be able to support!
