Namaskaram, I am overjoyed to be running my first marathon for the children of Isha Vidhya. I feel privileged to have my first time on the road be dedicated to the well-being and education of rural children who are first generation school goers in their families. The impact we make for them, will be the impact we make for the future.
Isha Vidhya, a not for profit education initiative, works for the economic and social empowerment of rural children in the villages across southern state of Tamil Nadu, India. Through this effort, the foundation is committed to raising the level of education and literacy in rural India.
My family is supporting the education of two Isha Vidhya students and we receive their progress reports every semester. We feel grateful that these children are blossoming, and especially that they are blossoming with gratitude in their hearts as they know that some stranger somewhere is looking after their well being.
If you do wish to contribute towards their well being, even an amount as little as Rs. 100 will make a difference. Every little drop in the oceans counts.
There are opportunities to volunteer at the schools, sponsor a child's education or their meals, which are in most cases the only nutritious meal they eat everyday and also possibilities to donate towards the infrastructure of the schools.
I express my gratitude for taking the time to read this, you can visit www.ishavidhya.org to understand the cause better.
Thank you
Akriti
