A dream city
A dream every day
The one we all deserve, made to reality by each of us!
Join us to become a part of the change you wish to see in your city!
In Mumbai alone, we are all affected by
1) Potholes: 16000 potholes in 2022 alone, claiming the lives of 5626 people between
2018 and 2022.
2) Waste generation: 68.8 million metric tonnes per year generated but all of this was not
collected.
3) Access to Public facilities: 58% of toilets have no electricity.
These civic issues affect our everyday! Our daily commute, our health, and our overall
safety!
We from BRM work towards creating a systemic resolution of these civic issues in a city
broadly across 8 major categories :
● Road safety,
● Solid Waste Management,
● Public Facilities Hygiene,
● Drainage Issues and Sewage Management,
● Maintenance of Public spaces (parks, lakes),
● Street Lighting,
● Water Distribution and Supply,
● Pollution.
While all these problems are cyclical in nature, occurring across one or the other
neighbourhood on a weekly basis, the best part of the solution is that there are government
bodies who are both in charge and highly responsive when grievances are raised by citizens.
The real challenge is the prioritization of which civic issue and in which neighborhood to
ensure timely and cyclical action.
Hence at BRM, we work with 300s of youth (selected from various colleges across the city
living across different wards) on a monthly basis to :
1. Empower themselves with the knowledge on how to raise complaints to the right
authorities and ensure the most effective and timely resolution of pressing challenges 2. Transform into a youth leader, a guardian of the neighborhood they live in and ensure
cyclical maintenance of civic facilities
3. Inculcate the concept of being an active citizen for their lifetime by spreading
awareness and encouraging everyone in their circle to raise complaints to better the
living conditions of any city in India
It’s a journey of impact, growth, and change for our youth for we believe when you work for
society you transform yourself!
We invite you to become a supporter of the movement that enables young people to realize
their role as active citizens and impact all our lives. Like Shridhar who worked in his community,
engaging with citizens, corporators, and the municipal corporation to resolve the issues his
society faces. Watch his change journey here.
Who doesn’t wantto live in a city they live and thrive in?
