We believe that every child should have the opportunity to discover the wonder and joy of books. As children who read are likely to have higher cognitive functioning, better communication skills, improved academic performance, the capacity to self-learn, greater confidence and a broader perspective and world view.
Though for most children from marginalised communities in Mumbai, owning a book is distant dream. Hence, we are supporting United Way Mumbai's Let's READ that aims to nurture a love for books and reading amongst children who cannot afford access to books of their own. Through this project, we set up mini libraries (each consisting of 130 books), gift book sets (set of 5 books for each child), conduct book reading sessions with a children’s book author or a professional storyteller and train NGO staff.
