I have been a part of the YPI for 5 years now. I started as a participant and now I implement the program in communities and schools of Mumbai and Thane. From being a participant overjoyed to be able to just play to understanding the nuances of sport and physical activity in the context of a patriarchal society obsessed with keeping girls and women inside houses, I believe I have come a long way. YPI has been a gateway for me to escape the burdens of being a girl child and created opportunities for me to ask questions, explore my interests, and given me the knowledge and skills to stand up for my right and for the rights of all girls and women.
