Isha Vidhya is Isha Foundation’s project towards educating rural children, most of them first generation school – goers, who are getting the benefit of quality education. Mumbai Marathon was an important source for funding this project. Over the past years, the funds raised by Isha volunteers through this platform have made a significant difference to this noble cause. I have no idea how Mumbai Marathon 2021 will happen. But, I do know that a child must continue schooling. Isha Vidhya currently runs 10 schools in Tamilnadu(TN) & Andhra Pradesh(AP), with 8,500 children (49% girls), 60% supported through scholarships. The economic and digital divide is starkly visible now, with many of these children having no or very limited access to data and smart phones. The schools continue to deliver classes through video messages .. besides providing books free of cost, to ensure that children do not drop out. These students need your support now - more than ever..to just continue schooling. Unless we step in to help them, there is every chance they may discontinue their studies due to lack of funds. A little bit of effort from us can make a huge difference to the lives of these children. It would be a matter of great satisfaction to me to know these young enthusiastic children are continuing their studies, and are on the way to build a bright future for themselves.
