Over the past 6 months, India has witnessed an alarming rise in the number of COVID19 cases. The lockdown imposed impacted the lives of many individuals and sections of the society. As an immediate response to the pandemic, there had been a need to focus on interventions towards slowing the spread of the disease and ensuring adequate facilities for treatment and care of patients. UWM commenced its COVID19 response interventions in March which included the provision of protective equipment for health workers, medical equipment to hospitals in addition to providing food and hygiene items for marginalized communities. However, as we are all aware, we have a long road ahead of us in the fight against COVID19. The past six months have severely affected the incremental gains that had been made in our communities over the years. There is much that needs to be done to overcome this pandemic and every little bit helps. Their efforts will include – •Restoring livelihoods of daily wage earners and marginalized communities •Health education and awareness generation on WASH behaviours •Providing PPE and establishing Infection Prevention & Control processes in public health centres and hospitals •Community based management of malnutrition
