Bhavesh is currently studying in Grade 10 & is also doing a job in the computer services industry. He wants to learn more about computer hardware & software engineering in college. Bhavesh was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia(ALL) in 2012 & it took him 4 years to be completely cured. Bhavesh has beaten the odds & is incredibly aware of his good fortune. Both of us now want to empower others through our own stories & I want to support Bhavesh all the way. Bhavesh will run 10 km in the Mumbai Marathon, raising funds for Cankids, on Jan 19, 2020. CanKids works towards providing best standards of treatment care and support services for children with cancer & their families from the moment of diagnosis through treatment and after into survivorship on the one hand & palliative care, terminal & bereavement support on the other. I was introduced to CanKids by my mother who devotes her time & energy in contributing to the organization’s mission. I believe that the youth needs to be sensitized to the needs of society. Every child has a right to live a happy life, without pain & suffering. The world cancer survival rate in children is 90% but in India, it's an astonishing 30%. By supporting CanKids, I will not only give back to the society by contributing to increase the rate of survival but also create awareness among people about the organization’s vision that no child should die or suffer due to lack of treatment or resources.
