Chirag School located in the midst of the Kumoan Himalayan region of Uttarakhand is of its kind. It caters to the children coming from the rural areas upto K-5 level. The school was started by CHIRAG, an NGO with the support of local community to promote education in the healthy and natural environment of Uttarakhand. It provides a holistic education through activity based learning in various forms like sports, classroom teaching, library, group activity, life skill building and cultural events. During Pandemic our distance learning mode is continue where we provide weekly study kits to our children and connect with them through phone call. The school is mostly sustained through the humble contributions from donor agencies and individuals. Around 120 students receive education at Chirag School. The appreciable ratio of student v/s teachers is been maintained to ensure that the students get adequate attention and support in teaching and learning. A nominal fee is charged from the parents to inculcate the feeling of ownership, while the rest of the expenses are met out through donations.
