Dilkhush is a charitable organisation that caters to the education and empowerment of persons with intellectual disabilities (ID) The campus houses a Special School for over a hundred students that hail from varying socioeconomic backgrounds. Here, the students are taught functional academics, social skills, daily living activities and vocational skills. The main objective is the assimilation of the students into mainstream society. For young adults, Dilkhush houses a Sheltered Workshop, where one can sample and purchase delicious pickles and snacks from the home science section; pamper yourself with lush towels and napkins and carefully embroidered pouches ad purses from their needlepoint section; adorn your work space with carefully curated and decorated paper products and stationery from the paper-craft section and brighten any room with gift articles from the wood work section. To cater to the constant need to keep abreast with global developments in the field of disability, Dilkhush also houses a Teachers' Training Centre that runs a full time course for special educators, conducts workshops for families and caregivers of PWD as well as community awareness programs for educators and society at large. The continual effort and dedication of every member of the Dilkhush family has paid off; students have been employed in the hospitality sector, many teacher trainees have started their own vocational centers. The school can also boast of students at the Special Olympics.
