Tata Mumbai Marathon 2024
Umang Project is one of the functional project undertaken by the Agency. Objective of the project is to emancipate vulnerable children and provide awareness about the protection from child sexual abuse, hazardous effect of substance abuse. This project is working in collaboration with Child Line India Foundation in the western suburbs. As a part of Umang Project, the Agency is organizing TATA Mumbai Marathon as a fund raising program. I have beheld the endeavor of the social workers and staffs of the NGO for the Income Generation Project (IGP), Family Development Project (FDP), Tuberculosis Control program, Umang Project, Child Line etc. So, this initiative gonna be a great transformation and relief for people in need in our vicinity only through the support and donation of helping hands.
About Me
I am a social work student in TISS. For the academic year of 2019-2020 I am placed under the Agency Navnirman Samaj Vikas Kendra, Malad. The agency is working to bring changes in the life of socially and economically deprived communities. Basically, the Agency undertaken five fully functional projects for the empowerment of women, children, deprived classes, thrown out people and people in need. The objectives of projects include income, education, health and livelihood and family development etc. covering the area from Goregaon to Dahisar in Mumbai with all communities. I worked around 3 months under NSVK, done home visits and community visits under each project in the slums of Malad, Kandivali, Dahisar.
