Hello, Sometimes it just takes one life experience to humble a person and help put things into perspective. We had that experience when we visited the SK Patil School in Palghar. The school is approximately 2 hrs from Mumbai and has around 300 students from std V to std X. The condition of the school shocked us. It was not only in a dilapidated state but also lacked any sanitation or facilities like a playground, library, science lab or a computer room. The bathrooms were used as urinals and none of the flushes were working. The walls had paint peeling off and the floor had smashed marble with tiny particles of gravel spread all around. As soon as we saw the school we felt that it was impossible to study in this environment. The children of this school are extremely motivated to study and some come from distances as far as 15 kilometres on foot. In order to help these kids we need to make the right atmosphere to give them equal opportunity like others. The funds raised through this campaign will go towards building clean toilets, providing clean drinking water, setting up a library, science lab, playground and a computer lab to make it conducive to learning. If we raise enough, we would also like to paint the school. You can help us turn this dream into a reality by supporting our cause. No amount is too small.
