Agatsu Foundation is a dedicated mental health organization that, over the past three years, has built a multi-faceted approach to promoting mental well-being and increasing access to mental health resources.
We have established a community center that hosts a wide range of free activities designed to create awareness and offer safe spaces for exploration and connection. Our efforts include suicide prevention awareness, with programs that educate individuals on recognizing signs, seeking help, and supporting others in crisis. To further support emotional well-being, we run listener services and peer support groups, creating non-judgmental environments where individuals can feel heard, supported, and less alone in their struggles. Agatsu has also launched a therapy clinic, currently offering two forms of therapy on a sliding fee scale ranging from ?50 to ?750, making professional mental health care more financially accessible.
In addition, our newly formed Knowledge Department provides accessible, layperson-friendly guidance and resources on all aspects of mental health, aiming to demystify mental health conversations and empower individuals with accurate information.
Appeal
At the heart of our work is a simple idea: visitors practise the very skills therapy tries to teach—social connection, self-expression, and value-aligned action—but in real-world conditions. It’s not just about attending a class or reading a book; it’s about building a life where mental wellbeing, joy, and belonging are possible.
Healing and growth happen best in community. That’s why we created a free community centre—a welcoming space filled with a library, art supplies, and a weekly schedule of activities and events designed to nurture connection, creativity, and care.
Here, every week, people walk through our doors—students looking for a safe place to study, adults searching for creative outlets, seniors eager for companionship, and individuals who might never have accessed traditional therapy. What unites them is the relief of finding a space where they are seen, welcomed, and valued.
We are committed to keeping this centre free and accessible to all. But to do that, we rely on the generosity of supporters like you. Your contribution ensures that our library stays open, our art supplies stay stocked, and our activities remain free for everyone who needs them.
Together, we can keep this community alive.
