Gujarat Rajya Gram Vikas Samiti (GRGVS), established in 1988, is a 36-year-old non-profit organisation working towards inclusive development, social welfare, and environmental sustainability. Our interventions span across education, shelter for the homeless, women’s empowerment, health, and environment.

In recent years, GRGVS has taken a transformative step to combat climate change and build greener cities. With the support of communities and corporates, we have already created several thriving urban forests across Ahmedabad. Building on this success, we are now on a mission to plant and maintain 1,00,000 trees every year, ensuring not just plantation but long-term survival and care.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority have allotted us five urban forest plots across Ahmedabad. Our mission is to convert these barren lands into thriving ecosystems using the Miyawaki dense plantation method, ensuring fast growth, high survival rates, and biodiversity restoration.

GRGVS combines community participation with scientific methods, engaging local schools, residents, and volunteers. With a proven track record in impactful projects and corporate partnerships, GRGVS ensures transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability.

Through the Tata Mumbai Marathon platform, we seek support to plant 50,000 trees with three years of care, creating green lungs for Ahmedabad and a legacy of cleaner air, cooler summers, and healthier lives.

Appeal

Ahmedabad faces rising temperatures, pollution, and loss of green cover. To address this, we are on a mission to plant 50,000 trees across five urban forest sites officially allotted to us by AMC & AUDA. Using the Miyawaki dense plantation method, we will grow native, self-sustaining forests that restore biodiversity and combat climate change.
