Appeal

Dear Friends,
The Tata Mumbai Marathon fundraising portal is now open. For the last 12 years, for me, the TMM has meant an opportunity to raise funds for Karunya Trust. All of you have supported me through these years and together we have seen this NGO grow and do better work each year.

This year too I am raising funds for two worthy projects .One is the Gyaansathi ,the school for rag-picker children of Deonar dumping which we have been supporting for the last ten years. The second project is Saavli which supports HIV impacted children in Bhandup Nahur area.
Gyaansathi has 3 centres in Shivaji Nagar. Along with a school from nursery to SSC it runs community centres which help the families avail government benefits.
The 2025 SSC batch improved the good record of the previous year with 36 pass out of the 43 who appeared. Most of these children come from families where they are the first ones to clear SSC.
I had the privilege of teaching this batch and guiding them for their exam preparation.

The other project Saavli continues to provide medical and educational help to 1450+ children who are impacted by high risk diseases.

The impact of government's recent restrictions on foreign donations has been that these projects are severely lacking funding. I request you to please extend yourselves to make a sizable contribution this year in order to keep these projects on track.
