Karunya Trust is a Non-Governmental Organization, registered under the Bombay Public Trust 1950. Trust is engaged in the development of the poor irrespective of caste, creed and religion and the main area of intervention are Health, Education, Good Governance, livelihood, ecology.
Karunya Trust work with local people to mobilize, facilitate and scale up sustainable community driven responses to various issues through building community based organizations capacity and leadership. Karunya Trust collaborates, associates and builds strong mutually beneficial networks with likeminded organisations and Government agencies for the betterment of the society at large.
Karunya Trust has been working towards the upliftment of the Children from communities like HIV/AIDS, Rag Pickers and Tribals in Maharashtra. We have organized & conducted many programs & initiatives which would help them better in their life like :
1. Running Non-Formal Schools at Govandi Dumping ground
2. Created Self Help Group(SHG) for women in their neighbourhood
3. Initiative to help the Tribals in acquiring their Ration Card/Aadhar Cards and other government entitlements
4. Provided support for the education of children
5. Delivered nutrition kits to families & conducted Health Check Programs
6. Create income-generating jobs in their neighborhood
7. Counselling for children & their respective families
8. Building Houses and Toilets for Tribal communities
