About Me

I am Manisha, a 48 year old resident of Mumbai, working for a foreign bank, while trying to manage a family of 2 teens and my passion- running.

This year I am supporting ADHAR, and I hope you can too. I am running the Half Marathon and hope that we can collectively power ADHAR.

Run for a Cause at TMM 2026 – Support ADHAR NGO!

There are very few not-for-profits that work with adults who suffer from neurological conditions that make it difficult for them to be cared for at home. This situation worsens as the parents of the afflicted individuals age.

ADHAR, is an institution set up and run by such parents. I have had the opportunity to visit ADHAR’s Nashik and Badlapur centres, where men and women from all over India are well cared for and living a life of dignity.

For over 31 years, ADHAR NGO has been a lifeline for adults with intellectual disabilities—offering them lifelong care, dignity, and a sense of belonging.

ADHAR also creates lasting social impact by generating 275+ rural jobs, including 84 for women, and reaching 1,400+ lives annually across 18 Indian states.

Operating solely on donations and parents’ contributions, and with no government aid, we face a growing gap between rising costs and available resources. Despite our best efforts, this gap continues to widen as many aging parents face diminishing incomes and growing caregiving challenges.

We invite corporate teams and individual runners to join Team ADHAR at the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2026. Your participation will help us continue providing high-quality care to those who need it most.
