About Me
Did you know that if a child has cancer in the USA, their chances of survival are 80 to 90%. But in India, it is 35%. But it doesn't have to be that way. Founded in 2004 by Poonam Bagai, herself a cancer survivor, CanKidsKidsCan - The National Society For Change For Childhood Cancer In India aims to change that. Creating real and visible impact CanKids has driven access to care for kids with cancer from 29% to 53% by 2025, with a goal of 100% access, 100% financial protection, and 60% survival by 2030.
CanKids partners with hospitals, medical professionals, and state governments to move India towards 100% access2care & higher survival rates for children with cancer. They enable best standards of treatment, care and support across 141 partner centers in 53 cities and 22 states of India. Catering to primarily underprivileged families, CanKids serves the underserved, ensuring avoidance of financial hardship.
Your donation goes towards medical treatment, blood work, nutrition, counseling, education of a child with cancer. Together we can bring light into dark and shine the way for more children with cancer to #surviveandthrive.
Appeal
Hey, I am Vinay Shirsath, a 38-year-old working professional in the private sector. I run because I like to keep myself a healthy and active person, so I happily can see my kids growing well and fine. In this stressful life, I can see running is like a remedy to boost myself, stretch my own limits, and totally focus on only myself in this ME TIME.
Our family has a history of Cancer victims - In 2005, my own Uncle lost the battle of life due to an incurable grade of blood cancer.
This January, I’ll be running my first Tata Mumbai Marathon in support of CanKids KidsCan, an organisation doing meaningful work for children with cancer across India.
If you’d like to support this effort, I’d be grateful. Even a small contribution can create real impact — access to care, treatment, and hope. Think of it as the equivalent of one nice family dinner redirected toward something bigger.
Thanks for your support, and together let's do Cancer Ko Dhishoom Dhishoom
