About Me

Hello Hello! We are Gogi, Abhinandan, C.B. Jignesh & Brinda - the merry marathoners of Striders Shivaji Park. An intrepid group of runners who are now putting our feet (and muscles) to run for a cause.

We are running to raise funds for CanKids, which helps children with cancer across India and is very active in cancer hospitals in Mumbai, like Tata Memorial, Wadia, KEM, Sion Hospital and others. They also run a school for children with Cancer in Parel. Some of us have known the folks at CanKids over the years and supported them in indivdual capacity. Now as a group we are raising funds for holistic care and treatment of children with cancer.

We invite you to join us in this noble pursuit (pun intended) and support the cause. No amount is too small.

Appeal

Did you know that if a child has cancer in the USA, their chances of survival are 80 to 90%. But in India, it is 35%. But it doesn't have to be that way. Founded in 2004 by Poonam Bagai, herself a cancer survivor, CanKidsKidsCan - The National Society For Change For Childhood Cancer In India aims to change that. Creating real and visible impact CanKids has driven access to care for kids with cancer from 29% to 53% by 2025, with a goal of 100% access, 100% financial protection, and 60% survival by 2030.

CanKids partners with hospitals, medical professionals, and state governments to move India towards 100% access2care & higher survival rates for children with cancer. They enable best standards of treatment, care and support across 141 partner centers in 53 cities and 22 states of India. Catering to primarily underprivileged families, CanKids serves the underserved, ensuring avoidance of financial hardship.

Your donation goes towards medical treatment, blood work, nutrition, counseling, education of a child with cancer. Together we can bring light into dark and shine the way for more children with cancer to #surviveandthrive.
