About Me

My name is Anushka Parekh, I am fourteen years old, and I study at The Cathedral and John Connon School in grade nine. This year, I am running in the Dream Run category for the 2026 Tata Mumbai Marathon for a cause. I believe that even small efforts can create meaningful change, and supporting these organisations is my way of contributing to the lives of children who deserve care and hope. I chose to support the Thalassemia Society Pune chapter. It works tirelessly to guide and support patients living with a lifelong blood disorder and SRCC because it provides exceptional medical care to children who need specialised treatment. These organisations are united by their dedication to improving the lives of children, and that is why I feel strongly about standing with them. Through this fundraiser, I hope to make even a small difference and help give every child the chance to live a healthier and brighter life. Children living with Thalassemia require lifelong blood transfusions, iron chelation medicines and constant monitoring to survive. Your support provides life-saving chelation medicines and leukocyte filters that prevent dangerous iron overload and protect vital organs, such as the heart and liver.
Monthly cost per beneficiary is Rs. 10,750.

Regular health check-ups are crucial for detecting complications early and ensuring timely medical intervention.
Annual cost per beneficiary is Rs. 10,000.

For some children, a bone marrow transplant is the only permanent cure. This complex process includes donor matching, pre-transplant preparation, the transplant itself and post-transplant recovery.
Cost per beneficiary is Rs. 10,00,000.
