Hello All,
This year, for the first time, I’m participating in the Tata Mumbai Marathon as a fundraiser, supporting Vipla Foundation and its work for children with disabilities.
Vipla Foundation works with underprivileged children and women, providing early intervention, education support, and protection from violence. Through its Special Care Centre, Vipla offers specialised education and therapeutic support to children with hearing and intellectual disabilities. The Centre focuses on children from low-income families, helping them build academic, communication, and life skills through structured learning, therapy, and individualised care, empowering them to lead fulfilling, inclusive lives.
Story of a Young Girl -
When a small girl first came to the Vipla Foundation, she barely spoke and struggled with movement. She often watched others play, unsure if she could join in.
With gentle guidance, therapy, and endless encouragement, she began to take small steps forward — holding a crayon, humming along to songs, and learning to balance. The day she painted her first picture all by herself, her smile said it all.
Today, she walks into class with confidence and joy. Her journey is a reminder that with patience, care, and opportunities, every child can learn, grow, and shine.
