About Me
My name is Shivani Mali. I provide healthcare services to the last-mile people in the remote areas of India.
Appeal
From a Cancer Fighter’s Sister to a Community Health Warrior
My journey into social work began with a painful chapter in my childhood. In 2002, my elder brother was diagnosed with blood cancer. For over a month, our family struggled—moving from one hospital to another—until we finally reached Wadia Hospital. As a child, I spent days away from my parents, sometimes at relatives’ homes, sometimes inside hospital wards. Those early experiences stayed with me.
As I grew older, I understood the challenges we faced and decided to turn that pain into purpose. I pursued a course in professional oncology caregiving from Tata Hospital, completed my B.Com and MSW, and committed myself to the healthcare sector. Today, I work full-time as a Project Associate at DigiSwasthya Foundation, dedicated to ensuring that no family suffers due to a lack of awareness or access to care.
What once felt like a helpless childhood memory has now become my mission—to support others in their toughest times.
