About Me

I love going to Muktangan every Friday for my CAS—it’s honestly the best way to end my week. I really enjoy spending time with the kids, learning about what they like to do, and seeing how different and unique each of them is. It’s so nice to watch how excited they are to learn and how creative and confident they’ve become over time. Every class is full of energy, laughter, and positivity, and it always makes me look forward to going back the following week.

Appeal

Muktangan is an NGO that works to redefine education by providing child-centred, inclusive, and community-based learning within Mumbai’s municipal schools. What makes them so special is their belief in “education for the community, by the community.” They train and empower teachers from local communities to educate children in meaningful, creative ways that go beyond rote learning. Their classrooms are active, engaging spaces where learning feels alive — a true example of how education can transform lives.

I’m supporting Muktangan because I’ve seen firsthand the impact they create. They’re not just teaching children; they’re building confident learners and nurturing teachers from within the same communities. Supporting them means helping keep this cycle of empowerment going — ensuring that every child, no matter their background, gets the opportunity to learn, explore, and dream big.

Being part of this initiative has shown me that real change begins in classrooms like these, and I’m proud to contribute to it.
