About Me

My name is Ziya Parekh, and I’m a Grade 11 student in the IBDP program at Hill Spring International School. I’m passionate about making a difference in my community, and volunteering at Muktangan has been one of the most meaningful parts of my week. Working with the children there every Friday has shown me the power of education and kindness to transform lives. Their enthusiasm and resilience inspire me every single time. Supporting Muktangan through the Tata Mumbai Marathon is my way of giving back to an organization I truly love and believe in—a place that has taught me so much about compassion and purpose.

Appeal

I chose to run for Muktangan because it’s more than just an NGO to me—it’s a place filled with hope, learning, and love. Every Friday, when I volunteer there, I see underprivileged children whose eyes light up with curiosity and joy despite their challenges. Their determination to learn and grow inspires me deeply. Muktangan gives these children opportunities they might never have had, nurturing not just their minds but their confidence and dreams. Running the Tata Mumbai Marathon for them is my way of giving back—to the kids who teach me something new every week and to a cause that truly touches my heart.
