About Me

FPA India Bhopal Branch: A Legacy of Service and Change
The FPA India Bhopal Branch was established in 1965 under the leadership of Mrs. Sarojamma Reddy, wife of the then Governor of Madhya Pradesh, along with 27 dedicated members. In its early years, to expand access to health services, the first centre was opened in Old Bhopal (Budhwara area) under the name “Urban Family Welfare Centre (UFWC)”. Later, in 1966, the second centre was established in the BHEL Bhopal (Govindpura) area. These centers were financially supported by the Government of India through the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Since its inception, the Bhopal Branch has been one of the most active and influential branches in Central India, consistently delivering quality reproductive health and family welfare services to the community.
At present, the branch operates a 10-bed Reproductive Health and Family Planning Centre (RH&FPC), offering around 15 types of clinical and outreach services. These include family planning, maternal and child health, adolescent health, prevention of cervical and breast cancer, HIV awareness, safe abortion services, and mental health counseling. In addition, specialist doctors provide general health consultations, physiotherapy, and Ayurvedic treatments at minimal cost, ensuring accessible and comprehensive healthcare for all sections of society.
The FPA India Bhopal Branch has been honored with numerous national and state-level awards over the years for its outstanding contributions, including the National Award, Swasthya Kranti Doot Award, Bhopal Seva Ratna Award, and Prerna Award. Furthermore, the branch has received several other recognitions for its exceptional work in family welfare, women’s empowerment, and adolescent health.
For more than five decades, FPA India Bhopal has been continuously working to empower women, youth, and underprivileged communities through initiatives in health, education, and self-reliance. The organization firmly believes that even a small contribution can bring about a big change.
Your Contribution – A Ray of Change-
Your small act of support can ensure a safe and healthy life for a mother, light the path of education and confidence for a young girl, and guide a family towards a healthy and empowered future. FPA India Bhopal invites you to be a part of this humanitarian and transformative mission — because when you donate, you are not just giving aid; you are lighting a new ray of hope, a new smile, and a new direction in someone’s life.
