About Me

Prerana has been a part of the Jai Vakeel Foundation family since 2016-17, after completing her formal schooling till Grade 8. Joining JVF was a life-changing experience for her — here, she found the encouragement and support she needed to truly shine. Whether it’s excelling in her Vocational Training Centre (VTC) work or making her mark in sports, Prerana gives her all with dedication and enthusiasm.
Passionate about sports and fitness, she loves running and dancing, and fuels herself with wholesome homemade food.

Having already won several medals at district and state-level athletic events, she’s now participating in the Tata Mumbai Marathon to build stamina, challenge her limits, and inspire others with her determination.

Recently, Prerana also won a bronze medal in the Cleaning Services category at the State-level Abilympics and has been selected to represent Maharashtra at the National Level! With the loving support of her grandparents and uncle-aunt, she continues to grow into a strong, disciplined sportsperson — one stride at a time.

Meet Prerana Desai – Running Towards Her Dreams!

Prerana is running the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2026 to give back to the place that has helped her discover her strengths and purpose — the Jai Vakeel Foundation. For her, JVF is more than just a school; it’s a family that believed in her abilities, nurtured her confidence, and helped her grow into the determined young woman she is today.

By fundraising through the marathon, Prerana hopes to support more children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to receive the same opportunities, care, and encouragement that changed her life.

Every step she takes in this marathon is a step towards empowering others like her to dream big, work hard, and thrive.
