Hi,
This year, I am running my very first Tata Mumbai Half Marathon. At 18, this is not just about testing my endurance—it’s also about making my run meaningful by supporting a cause that truly matters.
I’ve chosen to run for Ummeed Child Development Center, an organisation that empowers children with developmental disabilities—kids with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, learning difficulties and more—to live with dignity, confidence, and inclusion.
Since 2001, Ummeed has touched the lives of over 15,500 children directly through more than 1.5 lakh therapy sessions, and reached over half a million families across India through training and advocacy. Their dedicated team of doctors, therapists, educators, and counsellors works every day to give these children the chance to thrive.
But the need is huge—India has nearly 52 million children with developmental disabilities. Ummeed’s work is critical, and every bit of support helps them expand clinical sessions for children and train caregivers, teachers, and professionals.
