About Me

Hi, my name is Reeva Jain, and I am a student from Grade 11 at the Hill Spring International School. This year, I am running the Tata Mumbai Marathon in support of the Jai Vakeel Foundation.
I chose to support Jai Vakeel because their work represents something I deeply believe in, that everyone deserves the chance to grow, learn, and live with dignity. Jai Vakeel works with children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing education, therapy, healthcare, and vocational training to help them lead independent, fulfilling lives.
The more I learned about Jai Vakeel, the more I was inspired by their approach, compassionate, patient, and deeply human. They don’t just support individuals; they empower them, giving families hope and communities a reason to celebrate inclusion.
Running this marathon is my way of standing with them. Training for it has reminded me how much strength comes from persistence, something the children and adults at Jai Vakeel demonstrate every single day. Their courage motivates me to keep pushing forward, one step at a time.
This run is personal. It’s about doing something I love for something I care about, using my steps to support lives that deserve every opportunity to shine.
If my run can help even one child access therapy, one student discover their confidence, or one family find hope, it’ll all be worth it. I’d love for you to be part of this journey, please consider supporting my run for Jai Vakeel. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps create a more inclusive world.

Appeal

This year, I’m lacing up my shoes not just to run the Tata Mumbai Marathon, but to run for inclusion, dignity, and hope. I’m running for the Jai Vakeel Foundation, India’s oldest and largest non-profit working for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
For over 80 years, Jai Vakeel has been a safe haven and a second home for children and adults with diverse needs. They provide education, therapy, healthcare, and vocational training, helping each individual live a life of independence and self-worth. What makes their work so special is their belief that every person, regardless of ability, deserves the chance to thrive.
In a world that too often sidelines those who are “different,” Jai Vakeel stands for inclusion, not just as an idea, but as an everyday reality. Their classrooms buzz with learning. Their therapy centres restore confidence. Their vocational units empower individuals to earn their own living. And their families find support, acceptance, and hope for a better future. By supporting my run, you’re helping unlock that future. Every contribution, big or small, goes directly toward therapy sessions, special education programs, and skill-building workshops that transform lives. Together, we can create a world that sees ability, not disability.
If my steps can help even one person walk, learn, or smile with confidence, it’s worth every mile. Please consider donating and joining me in this journey of compassion and change.
