About Me
I am a Chartered Accountant by profession; and an avid runner. My children Nandini & Dhruv are a part of my team for this campaign for the beautiful kids of Arushi India.
I have run full & half marathons across India, Asia, Europe, Africa & USA. I regularly run for charities and have previously run for Arushi, SoS Village, Hope4All, Food for Life, Li'l joys of Life, EveryChild etc. Running for Charities & doing the fundraising, in fact, is the best part of it, where I can combine my passion with my social responsibility & attain optimum satisfaction.
Appeal
ARUSHI means the first ray of sun. The first ray of sun brings forth a new day, fresh hope, promise & prospects. ARUSHI inspires to bring a ray of hope into the lives of the disadvantaged sections of the society by striving for their integration into the mainstream.
ARUSHI is a Bhopal based non profit organization, working with & for people with disabilities, and issues related to them. Formed in 1992, ARUSHI has been making concerted efforts, for more than 30 years, towards social mainstreaming of persons with disabilities.
Presently, ARUSHI is working for more than 300 children with impairments & special needs. Some of the notable initiatives of ARUSHI include transcription of more than 500 books in Braille, audio recording of more than 20000 hours of study material which is being used in 11 states for school & college students, creation & installation of Railway Time Tables in Braille at the railway stations in Madhya Pradesh, inclusive education for visually impaired and hearing impaired children, sensitization programs for the disabled in public places such as cinema halls, schools, banks and museums. The volunteers at ARUSHI are totally committed and their efforts are yielding excellent results in their work field. It is a pleasure to share with you that ARUSHI has been awarded "National Award for Outstanding Work" by the President of India.
