About Me
My name is Gargi Dutta, and I’ve been with Aseema for the last 17 years. I first joined as a Science teacher, but over time, Aseema gave me the platform to explore and grow in new directions. Today, I manage the IT infrastructure across all Aseema schools, train staff and external organisations in IT, and conduct workshops for our alumni.
This is my third year participating in the Mumbai Marathon, and each time it reminds me why I’m here — to run not just for myself, but for the children of Aseema.
What makes Aseema special to me is that it nurtures holistic development for children, while also empowering its staff to take on versatile roles and challenges. Coming from a family of teachers, I’ve always believed in serving and growing with people — and Aseema has allowed me to live that purpose fully.

Every day, more than 3,500 children walk into Aseema’s classrooms — children from families where education has often felt out of reach. Here, they find inspiring teachers, nutritious meals, and the confidence that their dreams matter.
For over 25 years, Aseema has worked to ensure these opportunities never stop. Yet the world of funding can be unpredictable. To keep delivering consistent education and care, we must strengthen our ability to plan ahead and stand strong for every child — today and for generations to come.
That’s why this year, through the Tata Mumbai Marathon, we are aiming to raise funds to secure the future of every Aseema child — so their education continues uninterrupted, and the cycle of empowerment carries forward to future generations.
