Today 138 children are given free transfusions every two – three weeks (for the entire life of the children)
Established Haemophilia transfusion centre.
He has donated blood 132 times.

• He has organized and coordinated 30 (out of total 47) multi-specialty surgical treatment projects in African countries like Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Madagascar, Zimbabwe and Rwanda. The team of doctors have performed more than one hundred and twenty thousand (1.2 lac) free surgeries in the projects. The monetization value of all the projects together would be more than rupees 200 crores ($ 40 million).
• Similar large medical projects were organized in Udhampur (J & K), Latur and Jalna districts & in eight revenue districts of North and South Kashmir (A record 8000 surgeries performed in three projects)
• Represented R.I. President in four district conferences including once in Germany.
• Member, Rotary’s India National Polio Plus Committee since 17 yrs. He is in charge of Rotary’s Polio & routine immunization related activities in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan & Goa States. Has worked for Polio Surveillance with WHO in UP & West Bengal. Currently on Ad Hoc Polio Operational Committee

I am well-known senior oncologist based in Solapur. I completed my M.S. in General Surgery in 1982, securing the first rank in the university with distinction. I am the founder and director of Kumthekar General Hospital & Cancer Research Center, located in Jule Solapur. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in the field of surgical oncology through my work with the Rotating Oncology Residency Program at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, the Surgical Oncology Department of Shri Siddheshwar Cancer Hospital & Research Center, and as a specialist surgeon in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I have also served at NM Wadia Hospital, Pune.
In addition to my medical career, I have held several leadership positions in various organizations, including Trustee of N.M.Wadia Charitable Hospital, Solapur, Past President of the Solapur Surgical Society, Past Vice President of FPA India – Solapur Branch, and Past Chairman of Kavita Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd. I have also served as Treasurer of the Bhartiya Sanvidhan Sanrakshan Samiti, a Member of the Academic Council of Solapur University, and Honorary Surgeon of the Solapur Cancer Society. I am currently a Managing Committee Member of the Indian Red Cross Society and Smt. Gopabai Damani Blood Center, as well as a Charter Member of the Lions Club of Solapur Central.
I have been actively involved in health education and public awareness through articles published in leading newspapers on topics such as environmental pollution, tree plantation, organ transplantation, oral and dental health, common cancers, and health care services. I have conducted numerous cancer detection and general health camps, and participated in various radio and television programs focusing on the effects of tobacco, leptospirosis, and women's cancers.
Appeal
Cervical cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer deaths in women aged 15 to 44 years in India. More than 95% of cervical cancer cases are caused by the HPV), which can be prevented!
FPA India, a national voluntary organization dedicated to promoting the sexual and reproductive health and rights of all individuals, launched the campaign 'Race to Erase Cervical Cancer' in association with the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2024 in September 2023.
Interventions to prevent cervical cancer are an integral part of the comprehensive rights package for sexual and reproductive health we offer.
Our campaign aims to raise awareness and resources for stepping up the fight against cervical cancer.
