About Me
For the first 15 years of the Mumbai Marathon, I participated and raised funds for girl child education, deafblind children etc. When I came to know this year of Anudaan - Making Transplants Affordable, an initiative by NGO, MOHAN Foundation, it struck a chord and after a gap of 6 years, I decided to raise funds for this noble cause and get the benefit of running in the Mumbai Marathon once again.
Appeal
It is wondrous how 1 person can give life to half a dozen others; while not even realising her/his loss but having visualised its gain for others in advance. My cousin's daughter, a lively child had cardiac myopathy (a weak heart) and needed a heart transplant. She was lucky to havve got a donor that suited her profile. After much efforts, she underwent a heart transplant and after surgery lives a healthy life. She is now happily married and pursuing her career. She has to be careful, of course, but appreciates this lease of life!
What would be the fate of another child with the same malady but much less financial resources? MOHAN Foundation comes to her/his rescue. MOHAN = Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network. They work to make transplants more economical and organ donations more widespread. I am an organ donor myself. Your donation in support of my run at the Mumbai Marathon 2026 will go a long way in giving a child a chance for a healthy life.
One person's last charity will be another person's second chance to a healthy life!
