About Me

I am founder of Jidnyasa Organization .I come from a rural background in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, where I witnessed closely the struggles of children from marginalized and migrant families. While pursuing my Master’s in Social Work, I worked with children of sugarcane cutters and saw how migration, poverty, and lack of awareness pushed them away from education.

One memory that stayed with me was of a little girl carrying her baby brother while her parents worked in the fields. When I asked her if she wanted to study, she said she would love to but had to take care of her sibling. That moment made me realize that education for such children is not just about classrooms—it is about addressing the many social barriers that keep them away from learning.

With this conviction, I started Jidnyasa Initiatives first as a small intervention in villages, creating safe and joyful learning spaces in community halls and open grounds. The journey was not easy—building trust with parents, handling frequent migration of families, and working with limited resources were constant challenges. But every time a child learned to read, smiled with confidence, or continued schooling despite hardships, it gave me strength to move forward.

Today, Jidnyasa reaches 1,500+ children annually through Aas (for migrant children) and Aarambh (for rural government school children). We not only focus on education but also on nutrition, health, parental engagement, and innovative learning models like libraries and English learning labs.

What started with just one person’s determination has now grown into a small but committed team, working with communities, schools, and partners to ensure that no child is left behind due to circumstances of birth or poverty.

Appeal

Hello,
I am associated with Jidnyasa nonprofit organization ,working extensively with children of migrant sugarcane workers and marginalized rural communities in Kolhapur district, Maharashtra.
Our initiatives focus on providing quality education, nutritious meals, health interventions, and life skills to children who are otherwise deprived of basic childhood needs due to poverty, migration, and lack of access to services.
Every year, thousands of migrant sugarcane-cutting families in rural Maharashtra are forced to move from one place to another for work. This uproots their children from a stable learning environment, often leaving them with no access to education, healthcare, or proper nutrition.

Jidnyasa Charitable Trust is committed to changing this. Since 2016, we have worked with children of migrant families to provide:

Education through Learning Centers: We bring mobile learning centers to sugarcane fields and rural areas, giving children access to education wherever they are.

Nutritious Meals: We ensure that children get healthy snacks and meals to keep them energized and ready to learn.

Health and Hygiene: Regular health check-ups, hygiene awareness sessions, and distribution of essentials like sweaters during the winter months.
Transportation , administarion and all
