About Me
Human behaviour has always been of great interest to Binaifer and an extension of that interest brought her to the field of Mental Illness and Health. Her introduction to the field of Mental Illness and rehabilitation was accidental but is clearly her hearts' calling. Having started her journey with adults living with Mental Illness with the Samaritans in 1992 in Mumbai, she was lead by her curiosity of the broader issues in play to do her Masters in Social Work. Having completed her MSW from the College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan in 1996, Binaifer’s experience in the developmental sector has spanned three decades and spread across various sectors and populations, bringing her in touch with the broader adjacent issues that impact Mental Health and well-being, integral to the individual and to our social fabric as a whole.
Today the director of MANAV Foundation, Binaifer started her journey with the organisation as a consultant at the time of it's inception in 2004. Having steered it through the various phases of it's continuing evolution, she has contributed to it's ethos, it's programmatic development and implementation and stays committed to the vision of a social mosaic that's inclusive, holistic and above all equal in it's opportunities for all.
Appeal
At Manav Foundation, we believe that every individual living with Mental Illness deserves dignity, opportunity, and inclusion. Since 2004, we have been walking alongside individuals and their families, offering psychosocial rehabilitation, family support, and community awareness to break barriers of stigma.
This Tata Mumbai Marathon, we invite you to run with us—or support our cause—to help create a world where Mental Health is embraced with compassion and acceptance. Your contribution will empower individuals to rebuild their lives, find hope, and reintegrate into society with confidence.
Together, let’s make every step count for Mental Health.
Support Manav Foundation at the Tata Mumbai Marathon and be a part of someone’s journey to inclusion.
