When Mumbai Sleeps, Dreams Come Alive in Night Schools As the city winds down, another journey begins. After long, tiring hours at work, children of daily-wage laborers, domestic helpers, and small vendors make their way to night schools. Exhausted yet hopeful, they walk into classrooms because education, for them, is more than just lessons—it is a chance for dignity, progress, and a future free from poverty. At Masoom, our mission is to nurture these dreams and ensure they don’t fade away. We are working to transform night schools into places of opportunity by providing: Training for teachers to connect with and inspire students, Digital learning resources to make education interactive, Nutritious meals so no child studies on an empty stomach, Career and counseling support to guide youth toward higher studies and jobs, and Improved infrastructure to create safe, welcoming classrooms. Over the years, Masoom has partnered with 85+ night schools and reached 17,000+ students. Many have passed their 10th and 12th Board exams, stepped into college, or secured meaningful jobs—breaking cycles of hardship and building brighter futures for their families. Yet, countless more children are still waiting for this opportunity. This year, as part of the Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM), I am running to raise funds so that more students can access education and a pathway to success.
