When the World Sleeps, Dreams Awaken in Mumbai’s Night Schools

Every evening, after long hours of work, children of daily-wage earners, domestic helpers, and small vendors step into Mumbai’s night schools. They come tired but determined—because for them, education is not just about learning. It is hope, dignity, and the only pathway out of poverty.

At Masoom, we are committed to ensuring these dreams don’t fade. We work to transform night schools into vibrant learning spaces through:

Teacher training to inspire students,

Digital tools to make learning engaging,

Nutrition support so no child studies hungry,

Career guidance to prepare youth for higher studies and jobs, and

Infrastructure support to create safe and dignified schools.


So far, we have supported 85+ night schools, reaching 17,000+ students. Many have cleared their 10th and 12th Board exams and gone on to college or meaningful employment, transforming not just their own lives but their families’ futures.

But thousands more are still waiting. This year, through the Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM), I am running to raise funds so more students can have the chance to learn and succeed.
