About Me

Myself Nilesh Chitre a retired CFO from a German muti-national company. After serving 38 years in the corporate sector, I have now dedicated myself to philanthropy. I am associated with CEQUE being nominated by SVP (Social Ventures Partners) as a lead partner.

Appeal

A good and functional education system is the fundamental requirement for our beloved country to develop faster and raise the quality and standard of leaving of our people. The need is to ensure access to quality education. The millions of low-income families depend upon universal education imparted by government and municipal schools in our country. However, the objective will not be achieved if the quality of education is not adequate. The success of the education system depends upon quality and capabilities of our teachers. CEQUE (Centre for Equity and Quality in Universal Education), a Mumbai based NGO is engaged in upskilling the teachers in government schools through its flagship internation the Teacher Innovator Program. The program upskills teachers in innovative math and language teaching practices. The program includes training workshops, in class academic coaching, teaching learning resources and school learning exhibitions. The outcomes are happy learning environment, skilled teachers and confident learners. Impact is seen in the remarkable rise in teachers' competencies and learning outcomes. CEQUE's model has been scaled across multiple districts in three states (Maharashtra, Karnataka and MP). CEQUE's program has reached 200o plus schools, over 3200 teachers and more than 150,000 students in over decade. CEQUE aims to reach out to more than 500o teachers over next five years. Investing in teachers is the best way of achieving quality in education and helping the disadvantaged children to realize their dreams. I am quite passionate about the work CEQUE is doing and running this year's Tata Mumbai Marathon for their cause. I appeal to all to donate generously for this great cause.
