About Me

I'm Ashwini Kapila, Chief Business Development Officer at Walkabout Active Agers Pvt. Ltd., where we're on a mission to empower people over 55 through lifelong learning, engagement, and purposeful living. After 28 intensive years in investment banking spanning sales, trading, and capital markets, I've transitioned to mission-driven work focused on Active Agers and lifelong learning. CEQUE's commitment to making quality education accessible to every child deeply resonates with my personal values—I believe learning is a fundamental right at every life stage, not a privilege. As an avid marathon runner passionate about fitness and perseverance, running the 2026 Tata Mumbai Marathon Half Marathon for CEQUE allows me to combine my love for running with supporting their vital work in breaking educational barriers and creating opportunities for all children.

RUN FOR TEACHERS

Think back to that one teacher who you remember because she/he saw your potential when others didn’t , who believed in you when you didn’t believe in yourself. That teacher didn’t just teach you back then - that teacher shaped you to become what you are today!

We at CEQUE educate children through investing in teachers. We partner with governments and provide long term support to government school teachers in Language and Math pedagogy through training, in-class coaching, learning material and student exhibitions. We help teachers teach better, so that children learn. To date, we have reached over 3,200 teachers and 150,000 + students in more than 2,000 schools across 8 districts in 3 states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. On an average, each teacher will impact 400 students over his/her professional lifetime - that’s 400 futures transformed through single investment.

In 2024-25, your fundraising efforts helped create such a teacher for an underprivileged child! One who helps a child stay in school, attend regularly and learn well. One who is her best hope for breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. Your support helped in reaching out to 2,430 teachers and 48,827 students. The impact? The percentage of students who could read a complete story went up 28% points and those who could do division went up by 21% points. These are not mere numbers, but a testament to what teachers, you and CEQUE can do collectively, to build a better future for our children.

As we look ahead, we see thousands of more children waiting for their chance, hundreds more teachers ready to improve, innovate and ensure every child is learning well. We look forward to your support this year as well - because every child deserves a great teacher !
