About Me

I was born on 8th September 1960 in a middle class family in a small town of Modi Nagar UP. I completed my Higher Secondary in 1977 and B Tech Electrical Engg.in 1982.
Starting my career with NTPC, I totally worked for 31 years across different organizations in different roles at different positions like ABB, ALSTOM POWER (Now GE Power), BSES, Tata Power and Tata Teleservices before giving up the corporate job in 2013 at the age of 53.
The life changing moment in my life happened around 1997/1998 when I got an opportunity to visit Mother Teresa’s Missionary of Charity in Kolkata. I was totally floored and inspired by her selfless devotional service to society that I decided that at some point of time I would also give back to society what God has given me.
In 2009 I got an opportunity to be associated as a volunteer with Udayan Care a 31 year old NGO. My journey in Udayan Care (www.udayancare.org ) over the last 15 years has been most fulfilling and satisfying. I will fall short of words in expressing my gratitude to GOD for giving me this God sent opportunity of giving back to society.

With support of Managing Trustee along with the Udayan Care Board and the team members whom I have been working, I have also grown in the organization from a part time volunteer in 2009 to a trustee in December 2019. As part of the journey I wear several hats in the organization.

• Mentor Father at the girl’s home at Greater Noida.
• Honorary Director for the IT program which is today operating 21 IT centres across NCR and other cities of India with focus on job specific courses and employability.
• In 2016, I as the convenor, started the USF chapter in Greater Noida
• Over the years I have been raising funds for the organisation through third party events and from PSUs/MNCs
• I was the highest individual fund raiser in the last edition of ADHM 2019
• I was the highest individual fund raiser Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2023
I am the highest fundraiser in VDHM 2025 having raised 26 lacs for my NGO Udayan Care
• Rex Karmaveer Awardee(Silver Medal) instituted by ICONGO and United Nations

• Won the Indian Glory Award 2024 for the “Best Social Worker of the year”
• Nominated for Karmaveer Gold Award to be given in November 2024

• So far,I my wife and my mother have donated more than 1.5 crores from our personal wealth over the years to Udayan Care. Believe in the philosophy that we came empty handed and will leave this world one day empty handed. So just practising walk the talk

so much from the young minds here! I have poured all my experience, learnings, and
several success stories of my last 15 years of volunteering in the book *'WINGS TO

Appeal

Dear Friends,

On 18 January 2026, I will run the Tata Mumbai Marathon for every girl whose dreams deserve a fair beginning.

I was born in Modinagar, shaped by opportunity, and built by 31 years of work across organisations like NTPC, ABB, ALSTOM POWER, BSES, TATA POWER and TATA TELESERVICES.
Life gave me the chance to LEARN, work allowed me to EARN, and experience taught me that the only success that matters enough is the one we RETURN.

In 2013, I stepped away from my corporate career, not as an ending, but as an answer. Since 2009, Udayan Care has not been an organisation to me; it has been a responsibility.
Today, as a Trustee, I actively raise funds because I have seen what happens when a girl is given
belief before she is given permission.

I run for the Udayan Shalini Fellowship Program (USF), which steps in to level the playing field,
providing the tools and mentorship every girl needs to take control of their lives and futures. USF does not just fund education; It builds confidence, leadership, and self-worth.
Across 38 chapters in 15 states, over 18500+ girls now walk taller, as doctors, engineers, teachers, professionals and most of all, as women who know their worth.

Still, too many remain invisible.

Dreams don’t die loudly.
They fade quietly in homes, where education is unaffordable.

This run is my stand.
But the real change does not run alone.

When you support today, you are not contributing to a campaign; you are empowering a girl who becomes the agency of change tomorrow.

Run this race with me.

Because the real finish line isn’t on Marine Drive…
It is in the moment a girl realises her life finally belongs to her.
