Every year I try to raise awareness for causes I feel deeply about, volunteer with organisations and find opportunities to help make a difference across the spectrum of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. I have been fortunate to serve on CSR committees of the companies I've worked for over 15 years and been able to partner with NGOs more hands on.
I would like to leave the world in a much better shape, where no one is left behind.

Appeal

I have been running as an Ally with People With Disabilities since 2020.

When we started “Help a Child Walk” in 2024, we didn’t fully realize the power of a small device - one that costs around 8000 Rupees, but can completely transform a child’s life trajectory. With it, they can stand, walk, run, play, go to school, make friends and simply — be children. Without it, they risk being excluded from the world around them.

In 2024 and 2025, I raised funds for these life altering interventions. I look forward to making it my fabulous fifth year of running for this cause.

Thanks to the many who supported us, we could provide these devices for over 1000 children and we have seen first hand the change it has made to their lives. So, many of these children are now walking, running and going to school thanks to the gift of mobility.

As the word spread, there were requests from all corners of the country and cases such as 850 children in remote Orissa, who were measured for a device by another organization, but never received one because of lack of funds. Thousands more are in the same situation.

It’s heartbreaking that the only barrier between a child and the ability to walk could be a $ 100 device.

As we get set to run yet another Inclusion run with over 100 pairs of persons with disabilities and their Allies @ TMM 2026, I hope that we can also mark this journey with one that can light up a child’s world and provide the one thing they need the most – HOPE !
