Stigma, judgement, invisibility. Persons with disabilities have faced these for centuries. And yet, in this most modern of ages, the exclusion of persons with disabilities from mainstream life still comes as news to many people. Fortunately, this story can be rewritten. Especially if more allies like you join us in our journey to bring lasting change in the form of disability inclusion. In the form of a global community that is at once emboldened, energetic, and empathetic. Because that is the simple philosophy at the heart of Adventures Beyond Barriers Foundation: strength lies in community.
And what better way to encourage this sense of community than sport! After all, sport has the power to bring people together – no matter their age, race, religion, or physical ability. Sport encourages partnerships. It creates opportunities for bonds between persons with and without disabilities. Sport creates a level playing field – literally and figuratively – for everyone in the world. Sport is not a one-and-done event. It is an experience that stays with you forever.
That is the reason ABBF chooses to run marathons and to scuba dive. To trek and to paraglide. And summit mountain peaks, too. But sport isn’t all we do. After all, we’re not an adventure sports company! Sport is simply our gateway to a world of inclusion. A world where people empower people, and discover the compassionate human beings within themselves. A world where we all encourage each other to fight our own battles, conquer our own demons. A world where openness, sensitivity, and compassion come together to ensure that no one is left behind. Ever.

Appeal

Our appeal to you is to help us raise funds for Inclusion Run at TATA Mumbai Marathon (TMM) 2024. ABBF is the official Inclusion Ally for Procam, the organizers of TMM. The Inclusion Run has made Asia's largest marathon inclusive, accessible and creating equal opportunities for Persons with Disabilities to participate in the mainstream events. These 125 Runners with Disability will be paired with running allies who are Top Leaders from the Corporate World. The funds raised will be utilized for:

• Mobilizing and outreach for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) across India.
• Conduct practice runs in various locations.
• Provide nutrition.
• Transportation, and accommodation.
• Running gear like shoes, track pant and T-shirt.
• Registration fees for the Race Day to Procam.
• Media and Branding.
• Race day medals in braille.
• Administration costs.
