About Me
Divesh and I have run the Tata Mumbai Marathon for the last seven years, and this year is special once again, as we have set ourselves a goal, both for our timing and the support we gather.
Appeal
Let me begin by saying thank you for taking the time to read this. Means a lot!
Have you ever wondered what a livelihood is? Most often, it's a means of supporting one's existence, especially financially... do you agree?
For Alwar, a young boy from Andhra Pradesh, the story is slightly different. Born deaf, he was struck with polio at the tender age of 8, leaving him unable to walk and with limited use of his left hand. He completed his schooling; however when it came to finding a job, he was rejected, not once but many times over - the reason - his disability. Finally, when he secured a job at Vijetha Supermarket in Hyderabad, the livelihood created was more than just financial. It was a validation of his ABILITY.
And that is exactly what TRRAIN is championing.
Through TRRAIN's Pankh program, livelihoods are created for Alwar and thousands of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) every year, through skill training and employment opportunities. Grateful for the support of donors like yourself, 11,500 PwDs got livelihoods in the last financial year. (Do watch a short 1 min video of Alwar (attached below), to get a glimpse into a world quite different than yours and mine)
And this is where we need your help.
When you support our run, you're not just helping us cross the finish line. You're helping many others like Alwar, cross the line from unemployed to employed, instilling the belief that they can achieve their dreams and support their families. Donate and join us in this journey of making a difference.
Thank you for your time and generosity.
