Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India (TRRAIN) is a public charitable trust dedicated to transforming the lives of retail associates in India. Founded in 2011 by B.S. Nagesh, former Vice Chairman of Shoppers Stop, TRRAIN works to create sustainable livelihoods through skill development, employment opportunities, and inclusion in the retail industry.

TRRAIN focuses on empowering Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and young women from underserved communities by providing them with market-relevant skills and linking them to dignified employment. Through its flagship initiatives — TRRAIN Pankh and TRRAINHer Ascent — the organisation has enabled over 52,000 individuals to gain financial independence and social dignity.

TRRAIN’s work spans across 20+ states in India and includes partnerships with leading retailers, training partners, and government bodies. The organisation also advocates for inclusive workplaces, drives sensitisation, and celebrates retail excellence through events like the TRRAIN Retail Awards and #RetailEmployeesDay.

At its core, TRRAIN believes in the power of livelihood to uplift individuals, families, and communities — creating a more inclusive, equitable, and empowered retail ecosystem in India.

Appeal

With TRRAIN Pankh - Wings of Destiny programme we hope to create sustainable livelihoods for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) by training and providing them with employment opportunities in retail. The funds raised will be used to skill PwDs in 3 key skills; Life skills, English language skills and Retail specific skills such as retail math, cashiering, computers, customer handling and work readiness skills. We will be providing PwDs with employment opportunities in retail companies across India. Your support can help rescript their destinies to give them a life of hope, resilience and financial independence to support their dreams and their families. Come support us and be a part of the impact we wish to provide our PwDs with. Be the CHANGE MAKER they need!
