On January 18, 2026, I will participate in a half-marathon race in the Tata Mumbai Marathon—marking my 4th year running for a cause that truly inspires me. This year, I’m proud to continue my support for CanKids, a charity that stands by children battling cancer and their families.

Running for CanKids has been a journey of hope and purpose for me over the past two years, and I’ve witnessed how every donation helps provide vital medical, emotional, and financial support to these courageous children.

I’ve had the privilege of visiting CanShala, a special school in Parel for kids undergoing cancer treatment, and every visit has been deeply moving. The care they provide—allowing children to continue their education, express themselves through art and music, and stay on track for the future—is truly inspiring.

Appeal

Did you know that if a child has cancer in the USA, their chances of survival are 80 to 90%. But in India, it is 35%. But it doesn't have to be that way. Founded in 2004 by Poonam Bagai, herself a cancer survivor, CanKidsKidsCan - The National Society For Change For Childhood Cancer In India aims to change that. Creating real and visible impact CanKids has driven access to care for kids with cancer from 29% to 53% by 2025, with a goal of 100% access, 100% financial protection, and 60% survival by 2030.

CanKids partners with hospitals, medical professionals, and state governments to move India towards 100% access2care & higher survival rates for children with cancer. They enable best standards of treatment, care and support across 141 partner centers in 53 cities and 22 states of India. Catering to primarily underprivileged families, CanKids serves the underserved, ensuring avoidance of financial hardship.

Your donation goes towards medical treatment, blood work, nutrition, counseling, education of a child with cancer. Together we can bring light into dark and shine the way for more children with cancer to #surviveandthrive.
